HEY! I'M BLOGGING!

Welcome to CRISTYNA AUSTEEN’S BLOG titled Blossoming Ladies because it is written especially for growing and upwardly mobile female teenagers. This blog is created based on my belief that every girl is unique and must be treated with understanding. As a girl matures into a teenager, she becomes increasingly self aware. She starts demanding her own space, her own privacy. Her body is changing and her individual psychology is rapidly developing. The changes also affect her behaviour and character. She is sandwiched between childhood and adulthood; therefore, she is still treated as a child because she is legally a minor. However, she yearns for the freedom that comes with adulthood. She is at a period of great possibilities, confusion and anxiety. She is under pressure to fit in socially, perform academically and act responsibly. There is awakening of sexual feelings, a growing self identity, a need for autonomy that often conflicts with the rules set by adults (authority figure including parents, guardian, teachers and pastors).
The teenager believes adults do not take time to understand her emotions, rather they see what they want to see. They overreact and become mini dictators, threatening and bullying her to have their way. Believing she is misunderstood and no one cares, her life is characterized by conflicts. As far as she is concerned, she is in a war zone. Thus, she becomes confrontational, challenging authority to protect herself from their attacks.
In her search for her unique social identity, confusion arises between what is right & what is wrong. It is always at this stage that wrong choices are made and destinies shipwrecked because of fear and ignorance.
To counter this, I explore every available channel to counsel, inform and mentor the teen girl with an aim of empowering her to take informed decisions by guiding and assisting in channelling her outlook (her perception and response to situations), training and grooming her for her responsibilities as a woman of worth who is not hindered by the systemic neglect, misuse, devaluation and improper treatment that has caused unhappiness and limitations for generations of women.
It is my desire that, together, through this medium, we can offer advice, answer questions, give directions, proffer solutions and help the young female teenager have a purposeful journey through teenage years and early adulthood, avoiding the wrong crowd, unacceptable behavior and dangerous decisions in order to empower her to live a life of dignity.
Let us do this! Are you with me?
